In California, is science education valued, understood?
Tags: california state university, sandra porter, science educationSandra Porter delves into a recent Science article that found that 40% of science education specialists in the California State University system were thinking about leaving their jobs and 20% about leaving the field. Porter says these results are "sad and unsurprising," but wonders if students are happier with the quality of teaching from these specialists and if the effect holds at community colleges.
