The self-described entrepreneur and "ambassador of algae" has studied with the world-renowned marine explorer Jacques Cousteau. He's consulted with Fortune 500 companies. And he's spent 30 years at the forefront of the green revolution.
Now he's the winner of the prestigious Independent Publishers gold medal for Best Science Book --chosen from more than 4,500 other authors. Granted, the IPPY doesn't quite have the same cache as the Nobel or the Pulitzer, but hey, in this economy at least the guy's still got work.
