[Source: The Arizona Daily Star] - Dr. Fernando Martinez has accepted the post of director at the University of Arizona's Bio5 Institute.
Martinez previously served as interim director and co-director of Bio5, which was created to bring together UA researchers in the five fields of agriculture, medicine, pharmacy, basic science and engineering.
Martinez, a renowned researcher in childhood respiratory diseases and director of the Arizona Respiratory Center, said his own research into childhood asthma demonstrates the collaborative approach of Bio5.
