Making the biotech job connection

[Source: Arizona Daily Star, Dale Quinn] – More than 150 University of Arizona students interested in biosciences met with industry representatives from several companies Tuesday to explore job opportunities amid a tumultuous economy.
It was the first networking event hosted by the UA’s BIO5 Institute, a multidisciplinary facility that focuses on biology-based research.
Though local biotech firm Sanofi-Aventis isn’t currently hiring, “that doesn’t speak for tomorrow,” said Kenneth Wertman, Sanofi’s scientific director and associate vice president.
