Medical assistants finding entry-level jobs

[Source: The Arizona Republic] – In a time when lots of people are anxiously looking for work, many would envy Stephanie Cortez and Karen Watson.

Cortez went straight from her “externship”‘ to employment and Watson says she expects to do much the same.

Cortez went through medical-assistant training at Pima Medical Institute on Power Road in Mesa. Watson trained there as a veterinarian assistant, and school officials say more than 70 percent of graduates find jobs quickly.
