BIO-SA takes biotechnology on the air

The Bioindustry Organization of Southern Arizona (BIO-SA) has aired the first in a series of public access cable shows designed to educate the public and promote the field of biotechnology, according to the Arizona Daily Star.
As reported in David Wichner's Bio File, each of the four half-hour episodes of TucsonVision will profile a different member of BIO-SA. Protein Therapeutics Inc. was the first to be profiled, and will be followed by Ventana Medical Systems Inc., CellzDirect Inc., and Aventis Pharmaceuticals. BIO-SA is planning a spring series, kicked of by a segment on Niadyne Inc., a skin treatment company founded by two University of Arizona professors.
The first episode of the series aired twice last week, and will be broadcast again on Sept. 12 and 14. See www.access.tucson.org for complete programming information.
