Congratulations to Greater Tucson Leadership Class of 2015!

The Greater Tucson Leadership (GTL) Class of 2015 recently marked the end of their 10-month leadership experience together and celebrated their commitment to ever-greater pursuits at a graduation event in their honor.

Through the GTL curriculum, the class participated in a retreat, a Call to Action Day, and issue days designed to:

• engage them in community and regional issues;
• connect them with political, community and business leaders; and
• encourage them to implement a community and individual leadership practice.

Notably, the class volunteered over 800 hours and raised over $12,000 in cash and in-kind support for the community garden at Hiaki High School.

Since 1980, GTL has graduated over 900 participants and helped prepare participants to step more strongly into leadership roles in the Tucson community. Congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2015!

Black Board of Directors Project recruiting for Class 32

The Black Board of Directors Project (BBODP) is seeking candidate referrals for its upcoming class.

The BBODP launched in 1984 to fill the void of African American leaders on various corporate, charitable, and public policy-making boards and commissions at the local, state, and national levels.

Annually, the BBODP recruits a select number of highly talented and motivated individuals who have reached middle to senior levels of their careers, although a few young professionals who show high potential for achievement may be selected. The BBODP works to help its members grow their leadership by promoting them for board, commission, committee, and task force opportunities.
