R&D magazine honors UA biomedical engineer

Stuart Williams, director of the University of Arizona biomedical engineering program, has been honored with an R&D 100 Award for his design, the BioAssembly Tool. The award is presented by R&D magazine in recognition of the 100 most noteworthy technological products of the year.
UA shared the award with two other groups that had collaborated on the design: Sciperio Inc. of Stillwater, Okla., and Human Architectural Technologies Inc. The BioAssembly Tool could one day be used to repair damaged organs by fabricating human tissue.
