TGen hires two top administrators

The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) has hired out-of-state officials to fill two key managerial positions. Elizabeth F. Montemayor will assume the position of chief financial officer and Ron G. King will be director of technology transfer.

Montemayor is former vice president and chief executive officer of the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio. She has more than a decade's experience as a financial executive with an independent research organization, and served as director of administration for the San Antonio Cancer Institute.

King was the founding director of technology transfer at the National Human Genome Institute, where he spent nine years. He is also an adjunct professor in the School of Health Administration and Policy at Arizona State University and a member of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. He will work to manage the commercialization of TGen's research discoveries.

The hires brings TGen's employee base to about 125 people, including 68 researchers, spokeswoman Francie Noyes told the Arizona Daily Star.
