Full Story:

The Translational Genomics Research Institute has received a $9 million unrestricted research grant from the Flinn Foundation to help accelerate discoveries across a broad spectrum of diseases.

One third of the award will be used as a match challenge for the TGen Foundation's Naming Campaign. The initiative allows donors to make a lasting contribution to research by naming spaces within TGen such as laboratory benches, conference rooms, and other areas.

More than 100 naming opportunities exist, and the TGen Foundation hopes to name 20 of the 50 available lab benches by the end of the year.

The $9 million award brings the Flinn Foundation's total commitment to TGen to $24 million. The Foundation awarded the largest private gift to establish TGen in 2002.
