Arizona's tech industry received a boost today when Governor Napolitano signed an executive order creating the Governor's Council on Innovation and Technology, an advisory group consisting of 30 high-profile tech officials.

The council will focus on establishing a smoother tech-transfer system, attracting greater venture capital, growing new tech-based businesses, and developing an infrastructure that is conducive to tech growth. The council, chaired by Comerica President Ed Zito, will meet directly with the Governor every other month.
