Forbes has ranked Phoenix the second best city for jobs in the country.

The article stated that Arizona "has done a good job attracting technology firms, particularly biotech," also citing the Valley's strong housing market and relatively low cost of living.

"There is a fair amount of migration from southern California into Phoenix, both in terms of companies moving that way and households," economist Steven Cochrane of Moody's Economy.com told Forbes.

To compile the rankings, Forbes analyzed five categories to measure the nation's largest 100 metropolitan areas—unemployment rate, job growth, income growth, median household income, and cost of living.
