Survey indicates confidence in knowledge-based economy

A survey conducted by Valley Forward Association indicates that four out of five Arizonans think the state will be successful in creating a knowledge-based economy that is focused on science and technology.

The nonprofit public interest organization conducted the study based on a WestGroup Research telephone survey of 700 state residents in early 2007.

According to the survey results, 24 percent of respondents believe the state will be very successful in creating a knowledge-based economy focused on science and technology, while 57 percent feel that the state will be somewhat successful.

Contrastingly, 11 percent of those surveyed felt that state would not be very successful. Only 4 percent felt that the state's efforts would be not at all successful.
