Nonprofit organizations throughout Arizona provide a remarkable array of services and comprise a substantial sector of the state’s economy. The American Express Nonprofit Leadership Academy is designed for emerging leaders in the nonprofit sector. Sponsored by the ASU Lodestar Center (a member of the Arizona Civic Leadership Collaborative), applications are now being taken for the 2015-2016 class.
This nine-month program develops knowledge and tools to help participants be more effective and ready for higher level positions in their organizations. The statewide program is open to mid- to senior-level leaders in nonprofits, trade associations, advocacy groups, foundations, board members and corporations who collaborate with nonprofits. Click here for an application. The deadline is at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015. Tuition for the program is $995 and scholarships are available.
Up to 35 Arizonans will be selected competitively process to participate in the program which runs September-June. Members will learn best-practice approaches to leading and managing nonprofits from renowned professors and practitioner-instructors at ASU and other institutions.
Careers today are fluid and success depends in large measure on continual development. Leadership development is critical to keeping talented Arizonans working in nonprofit organizations and increasing effectiveness and innovation.
