[Source: Ken Alltucker, The Arizona Republic] – A group that pools public and private dollars to spur Arizona’s science and technology initiatives attracted more than $2 for each $1 it spent in public grant money on university research projects over the past two years, a new report indicates.
Science Foundation Arizona issued grants of more than $50 million in fiscal 2007 and 2008 to support university-research efforts.
That public investment helped secure nearly $110 million from private companies, federal research grants and other funding sources such as venture capital.
