CFHS science students compete nationally

Nineteen students from Catalina Foothills High School Science Olympiad represented Arizona in May’s National Science Olympiad competition in Augusta, Ga. The team ranked 20th among 61 teams, said Science Olympiad coach Kiki Moore of Catalina Foothills.

The academic competition showcased high school teams from across the country. It featured more than 20 events from various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry and technology.

The Catalina Foothills High School Blue “C” team secured its national spot after winning first place in February at the state competition in Glendale. The team of 15 members and four alternates included Akshay Agrawal, Eli Alster, Keenan Anderson, Ethan Borosan, Ian Choi, Arun Debray, Jacquelyn De Sa, Jonathan D’Gama, Ofer Fass, Isaac Hung, Rebecca Kennedy, James Larsen, Grace Lin, Miles Linscott, Aniket Maitra, Ravi Ram, Jenelle Wallace, Vivian Zhang and Fletcher Zumbusch.
