Online Application Overview

The Flinn Scholars Program uses an online electronic application, allowing you to save and check your work, then send your completed application to the Flinn Foundation with a simple click of the mouse.

To apply for the Flinn Scholarship, you will begin by logging on to an external website. There you will register your name and choose a password, and the website will guide you through the entire process. The site is a major online college-application provider that will protect your privacy.

The following components comprise the online application:

  • a form that collects biographical and family data;
  • a personal-information sheet on school and community activities, employment, and current studies;
  • three essay questions.

Two teacher recommendations and a report from your guidance counselor are also required and must be submitted electronically. The application website explains how teachers and counselors submit those recommendations.

In addition to submitting an online report, guidance counselors must mail a copy of your transcripts, including information on course work, class rank, grade-point average, and scores on standardized tests.

Application Deadlines

It is your responsibility to ensure that all application components are submitted and received by the Flinn Foundation by the deadline. For the 2013 Flinn Scholarship, the deadline will likely be in mid-October, 2012. Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed.
