[Source: The Arizona Republic] – A researcher at Chandler’s new science and technology incubator is making advances in crime-scene investigation.

That research – as well as work to improve medicine and homeland security – is led by a big name in science: Frederic Zenhausern, a professor at the University of Arizona.

Because of his research, in the near future, DNA could be identified by such small instruments that law enforcement wouldn’t need to take samples to a lab. The testing could be done in a police car or by immigration officials at a border with the goal of proving identification, thereby repelling terrorists and other criminals.
