2 institutions get $21.5 million for research space

[Source: The Arizona Republic] – Two Arizona institutions have been awarded a combined $21.5 million in federal stimulus grants to add or renovate research space.

The Banner Alzheimer’s Institute secured a $6.5 million grant to more than double its research space with new imaging and lab equipment. The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix snared a $15 million grant for an underground storage facility for animals in tandem with its new $187 million health-science-education building.
