The Flinn Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in Arizona to benefit future generations. We believe this expansive purpose encompasses all of Arizona, and all Arizonans. We also believe that our success requires a vigorous commitment to inclusive excellence, operationally and in our current philanthropic activities.

• Internal processes: We continually refine our program recruitment and selection procedures, as well as our grant-application designs, to ensure they are accessible to all.
• Support of grantees: We provide technical assistance to strengthen our grantees’ inclusive practices and offer grant support for their priorities in this area.
• Progress monitoring: We are committed to developing clear goals and metrics and improving how we collect and assess demographic data from program applicants and participants.
• Representation: We strive to have our staff, board members, and program participants reflect the communities we serve.
• Professional development: We engage in ongoing training and dialogue to deepen our understanding and implementation of inclusive excellence principles.
