Arizona hospitals work to keep patients from being infected

Hand-sanitizer dispensers and sinks outside every room. Signs reminding patients, visitors and doctors to wash their hands. Special soaps for bathing. Cleaning crews armed with bleach and other disinfectants.

Hospitals in Arizona and around the country are taking more aggressive steps to fight the scourge of hospital-acquired infections and improve the quality of patient care.
