Sold-out Flinn Foundation Bio Capital Conference brings Arizona’s bioscience community together

What a day! Panels, pitches, conversations and networking continued throughout the afternoon and evening of the Flinn Foundation Bio Capital Conference.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego opened the sold-out event at Creighton University Health Sciences Campus – Phoenix. Gallego talked about the city’s major investments in the biosciences, from wearable technology to ASU Health as well as the success of Phoenix Bioscience Core, TGen – Part of City of Hope, Mayo Clinic and many more.

“In every part of Phoenix, this has been a real priority,” the mayor said.

The nearly 300 entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, ecosystem builders and more for a full day of networking, panels, keynotes and connections.

We heard from startups HemaSense, NeuroCatch®, and Allevalux. Keynote speaker Tari Suprapto of Novo Nordisk talked about the “importance of being human” when making a pitch. Founders met investors. Collaboration was widespread.

Leading investors from Arizona and out-of-state are weighing in on successful pitches.

Health care leaders and investors talked about the future of care. Plus, breakout ask-the-expert lunch sessions, new connections and relationships, and insights from J.P. Morgan.
