In this CivEx: Access to Justice in Arizona: Civil Legal Services, moderated by Flinn-Brown Fellow Janet Regner, the panel included Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Ann Scott Timmer; Arizona State Senators Shawnna Bolick and Analise Ortiz; Coconino County Attorney Ammon Barker and Arizona Court of Appeals Judges Anni Hill Foster and Samuel A. Thumma, who serve on the Arizona Commission on Access to Justice (ACAJ).
The panel addressed civil access to justice in Arizona from the perspectives of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. It covered urban and rural needs and services; the economic impact of access; regulatory reform and innovation to improve it; and ACAJ efforts to expand and enhance services statewide. The panel also fielded questions to help attendees better understand current needs, available services, and reforms planned or underway.
