Flinn Scholar alum Katherine Larson, a nationally recognized poet, essayist, and scientist, will participate in a community event at the Flinn Foundation to discuss and celebrate the release of her new book, “Wedding of the Foxes.”

The event, which will also be available online, will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. The online program will begin at 11:30 a.m. Registration is open.

The Class of 1996 Flinn Scholar will share selections from “Wedding of the Foxes,” reflect on the intersections of science and art, and answer audience questions. Larson will also be interviewed during the event by Matt Ellsworth, a 1993 Flinn Scholar alum and the Flinn Foundation’s chief administrative officer.

Larson’s honors for her literary voice include a Ruth Lilly Fellowship, the Larry Levis Reading Prize, a Kate Tufts Discovery Award, the Foreword Indies Gold Medal in Poetry, and the Yale Younger Poets Prize.

About the book
In “Wedding of the Foxes,” Larson blends poetry, ecology, and personal reflection in a collection of lyric essays that explore how beauty and meaning can emerge from fragments. Drawing on her background as both a molecular biologist and field ecologist, Larson weaves themes of climate, motherhood, and creativity with an artistry that has earned early acclaim.
