Tucson area in line for up to 500 new biotech jobs

[Source: The Arizona Daily Star] – The Tucson area is in line to get 400 to 500 new local biotech jobs, with a major announcement expected in the next couple of weeks, the head of the region’s main economic-development agency said today.

The jobs will have an average salary of about $75,000 and a local economic impact of more than $600 million over time, Joe Snell, president and CEO of Tucson Regional Opportunites Inc. said at TREO’s annual luncheon at the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa.
