UA Professor helps Pima County get $16M to fight obesity

[Source: The University of Arizona Communications] – The Pima County Health Department was awarded $16 million from the federal government to combat obesity with the help of public health professor Merrill Eisenberg at the University of Arizona.

Pima County was the only community in Arizona to receive the federal “Communities Putting Prevention to Work” grant in March. The grant is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
