ASU’s under-construction McCain library aims to be civic commons rather than quiet archive / Phoenix Business Journal

Designed by New York-based SHoP Architects with immersive exhibitions by Local Projects, the building is envisioned as far more than a museum. It is intended to be a tourist destination, gathering place, a teaching tool and a civic commons devoted to leadership, democracy, and service.


An archaeologist found info on more than 300 historic Tucson saloons – and dug one up / KJZZ 

Saloons are certainly a staple of the American West. Homer Thiel documented hundreds of the saloons that crowded Tucson’s streets in the late 1800s. He even dug one of them up.


Museum of Northern Arizona opens multisensory exhibit about the Colorado Plateau / Arizona Daily Sun

The Museum of Northern Arizona recently opened an exhibit on the connection between the people and landscapes of the Colorado Plateau. The “Call of the Colorado Plateau” exhibit features multisensory installations including paintings, photographs, sound and the aroma of native plants.
