Business, science and education leaders gathered at the Arizona SciTech Festival kick-off conference Sept. 4 at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts to start making plans for the 2014 festival to be held in February and March.
The day-long conference featured panels, speakers, a reception and interactive tables, including discussions of festival events, best practices and ways to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in schools and the workforce.
The annual Arizona SciTech Festival is a collaboration of more than 350 nonprofit, business, arts and education groups. Last year, an estimated 260,000 attended about 400 events in 40 Arizona cities and towns.
