Strengthening career pathways is a goal in the new Arizona’s Bioscience Roadmap. That’s one reason why the Flinn Foundation funds the Summer Research Internship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. The program is seeking applications from pre-med undergraduate students for its 2026 cohort. The deadline to apply is Sunday, Jan. 18.

During the 10-week program starting in June, interns are mentored by a biomedical scientist, develop a hypothesis, and conduct guided research. Interns are paid a stipend of $4,000 during the program. Each intern is expected to write a brief scientific paper about their summer research and present their findings at a college-wide symposium at the end of the program.
