Free satellite feed of today’s NSTA and Math Solutions visit to ExxonMobil Teachers Academy

Today, Monday, July 23, U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings will join professional golfer Phil Mickelson and his wife Amy, officials from ExxonMobil, the National Science Teachers Association and Math Solutions in a visit to the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy in Fairfax, Virginia for a National Town Hall meeting with teachers from across the country to discuss the importance of math and science education in the 21st century workforce.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Communications and Outreach has arranged for a free satellite feed of this event, which will air today at 4-4:30 over the KU-Band. The Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy, established by ExxonMobil, Phil and Amy Mickelson, the National Science Teachers Association, and Math Solutions brings together 200 third- through fifth-grade teachers from across the country to help provide them with the knowledge and skills necessary to motivate students to pursue careers in science and math. The five-day session will equip teachers with innovative and exciting ways to teach math and science.
