[Source: The Arizona Republic] – The work never stops at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, even in the middle of construction.
Doctors and nurses have maintained their round-the-clock hours despite hallway closures, temporary kitchen trailers and moving whole departments to new facilities, all part of a $290 million expansion that is three-quarters of the way completed.
The small sacrifices now are expected to generate 800 more jobs by next year and more than 200 new rooms to house patients from around the West Valley. Banner Thunderbird already ranks as Glendale’s largest private employer.
