“Hot Summer, Cool Science: An Inquiry Event,” presented by Science Kit and Boreal Labs, will be held June 11, 12, and 13 at Arizona State University Polytechnic Campus, 7001 E. Williams Field Road, Mesa, AZ. The event is three full days of hands-on, inquiry-based science content training workshops aligned to the state standards. The event is being presented by Ten80 Education and will follow their research-backed “Mind Bugs in Science” program. Ten80 Education is a group of STEM professional development educators comprised of not only former teachers, but also former and existing scientists and engineers. Their approach allows for great real life examples of science, technology, engineering, and math integration and will allow participants to translate the importance of this integration into their teaching.

Participants who complete all six sessions will receive 2.4 continuing education units. Sessions run for four hours and two sessions are required. Certificates of completion will be provided for each session. Participants that attend four or more sessions will also receive a free CD that contains all of the coursework. For a detailed list of sessions and updated information, please visit www.sciencekit.com/coolscience. The local Science Kit representative is Toby Hamer, reachable at Toby_Hamer@VWReducation.com.
