Sandra Porter delves into a recent Science article that found that 40% of science education specialists in the California State University system were thinking about leaving their jobs and 20% about leaving the field.  The study says that the specialists weren’t happy because “their science education efforts were not valued or understood.”  Porter says these results are “sad and unsurprising,” but wonders if students are happier with the quality of teaching from these specialists and if the effect holds at community colleges.
