Keep residencies, Doctors in Arizona

[Source: The Arizona Republic] – It is in the state’s best interest to have enough physicians to meet the demands of a growing population.

That’s why Arizona should do what it can to encourage medical-school students to complete their residency and establish their practice here.
 
Yet in March, lawmakers cut $10 million from the graduate residency program that has a proven record of keeping doctors in Arizona. Hard budget times forced tough choices, but this was plain pound-foolish.
