[Source: The Arizona Republic] – Grants of more than $1.8 million recently were given to local groups by the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust in its latest round of awards. More than half of the money will help get Educare Arizona, a state-of-the art learning facility for at-risk young children, on its feet.
“We feel honored and proud to be partnered with them,” said Eva Lester, project manager with Educare Arizona. The group is to break ground Thursday on land donated by the Balsz Elementary School District for a 30,000-square-foot building that will provide services for children birth to age 5 to help prepare them for elementary school.
