[Source: The Arizona Republic] – The University of Arizona will seek to jump-start the school’s downtown medical-school campus expansion with a $187 million education building and by acquiring a chunk of land to accommodate growth.

A university official said Friday that the medical school would submit a proposal to an Arizona legislative review committee to develop a health-sciences education building designed to house medical and pharmacy doctorate students.

The move comes a week after the University of Arizona Foundation spent $9.85 million on a chunk of land adjacent to the downtown biomedical campus that could provide space for medical offices, research, parking or other uses.
