[Source: The Arizona Republic] – Venture-capital funding in Arizona is on the rise, following one of the most horrendous periods for startup companies, which scrambled to secure money during the economic downturn.

The amount of venture capital invested in the second quarter of 2010, $33.28 million, was higher than the first, third and fourth quarters of 2009, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association’s MoneyTree Report released in July. It was also more than the $13.5 million doled out in the first quarter of this year.
