Volunteers sought for March 6 expo and workshop for students in Pima and Santa Cruz

[Source: Dr. June Webb-Vignery, MEC Executive Director] — The Metropolitan Education Commission (MEC) in Tucson Arizona is looking for presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, and raffle prizes for the March 6, 2008 “Key To Employment for the 21st Century Industry, Technology, and Career Workshop and Expo.” This Out-Of-This-World Experience will provide middle and high school students, parents and educators an opportunity to experience hands-on industry and technology demonstrations and explore the hottest high-paying science, technology, and 21st Century careers with industry professionals and college students working at the cutting edge of science, technology and industry.

They will also learn about the required education and skills and connect with colleges, trade schools and community organizations that provide opportunities for students to further their education and training. Featured industries include aerospace, biotechnology, nanotechnology, optics, hospitality and tourism, media arts, environmental technology, information technology, healthcare, engineering, architecture/construction, eLearning and new age materials.

5-4-3-2-1 Blast off… The phenomenal Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson is the Launch Site for this morning event from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. for 1,000 high school students (accompanied by over 100 teachers) attending with a class or student organization and, a free evening event from 5 – 8 p.m. for middle and high school students, parents, and educators

  • Register students (schools and youth organizations only)
