Barrow launches 2 new clinical trials aimed at fighting Alzheimer’s disease / KJZZ

Two new clinical trials aimed at treating Alzheimer’s disease are starting at Barrow Neurological Institute. The first trial will look at the effects of a bone cancer drug in those living with mild cognitive impairment and the second trial involves a drug used to treat multiple sclerosis.

New research finds the shingles vaccine can also prevent dementia and cardiovascular disease / KJZZ

The shingles vaccine is really good at preventing shingles — about 98% effective, according to Banner Health Chief Research Officer Corey Casper. But new research suggests it may also prevent other ailments, like dementia and cardiovascular disease.
