UA launches new medical school branch in Gila River Indian Community / Arizona Republic
The University of Arizona and Gila River Health Care are launching a first-of-its-kind medical school branch in Sacaton, designed to meet the needs of rural and Indigenous communities. Beginning in July 2027, 10 students will be admitted annually to the primary care program where they will spend their final 18 months within the tribal community.

Northern Arizona Healthcare is offering a new therapy at Flagstaff Medical Center for patients with advanced prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, eliminating the need to travel every six weeks to Phoenix to receive the same treatment.
