AZBio Awards celebrates state bioscience leaders

The 2025 AZBio Awards honored bioscience researchers, businesses, public servants, organizations, and educators for their work in advancing the Arizona biosciences.

Gov. Katie Hobbs led off the Oct. 15 event in Phoenix with a speech and presentation of the first award. 

The 2025 AZBio Awards winners are:

  • AZBio Pioneer Award for Lifetime Achievement: Dr. Eric Reiman, Banner Alzheimer’s Institutes, Flinn Foundation Board of Directors
  • Arizona Bioscience Company of the Year: Roche Tissue Diagnostics
  • Jon W. McGarity Arizona Bioscience Leader of the Year: David Dexter, Sonora Quest Laboratories
  • AZBio Public Service Award: Fred DuVal, Arizona Board of Regents
  • Arizona Bioscience Researcher of the Year: Melissa Herbst-Kralovetz, Ph.D., University of Arizona
  • Michael A. Cusanovich Bioscience Educator of the Year: Kim Rodgers, Mountain Ridge High School
  • AZBio Fast Lane Award Honorees: Life365, LifeSpan Digital Health, Reference Medicine
