BIO5 Oro Valley and Translational Genomics Research Institute announced a collaboration in March to develop new therapies for the treatment of Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. Statistics from the National Institutes of Health indicate that 5.1 million older Americans – or one in eight – suffer from Alzheimer’s, the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States.
