Biomass plant may shut down amid lost deal

[Source: The Arizona Republic] – The biomass power plant near Snowflake could shut down because it has run into financial problems and Salt River Project is trying to cancel its contract to buy its power.

The plant’s owners recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and their bank, to which they’ve defaulted on loan payments, also filed an involuntary petition for bankruptcy.
