Chris Camacho
Chris Camacho joined the Flinn Foundation Board of Directors in 2024. Mr. Camacho is senior vice president of global site strategy and expansion for Scottsdale-based manufacturer Axon. In the position, he oversees global corporate services functions including real estate, facilities, EHS, corporate IT and the global security operations center. He also supports public affairs and government relations efforts. Previously, he was president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) and helped attract more than 540 companies, 100,000 jobs and $57 billion in capital investment to the region during his tenure. He has particular expertise in emerging technology, tax policy, and international economic development.
In 2021, GPEC was recognized as a top economic development organization globally by the International Economic Development Council, a year after being named first in the U.S. Prior to joining GPEC in 2008, Mr. Camacho served for four years at the Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation, including the final two as president and CEO.
He has served on Thunderbird Charities Board since 2018 and will be the 2027 WM Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman. He is on the boards of InvisionAZ, Arizona Chamber of Commerce, Boston Chamber of Commerce, Partnership for Economic Innovation and Valley of the Sun United Way.
Mr. Camacho graduated from Southern Illinois University with an undergraduate degree in psychology and a graduate degree in public administration and policy analysis. He attained his Economic Development Certification in Economics and International Development from the University of Oklahoma.
