Stacy Sullivan leads the Flinn Foundation’s internal and external communications strategies and activities, including marketing, community engagement, media relations, digital and print platforms; and internal, board and grantee communications. He oversees the communications staff and partners with the Foundation’s program leaders to meet their goals.

He joined the Foundation from Gannett Co., Inc, where he was director of local philanthropic partnerships for the USA Today Network, working with The Arizona Republic and the company’s largest newsrooms across the country to boost philanthropic support for local journalism. Prior to that, he was The Republic’s community-relations director, led the Season for Sharing campaign, produced the Arizona Storytellers series of live events and managed the Pulliam Fellows internship program. At The Republic, he had also led social-media and events teams; and features and politics/government reporting teams.

Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Louisiana, Monroe. He began his career as a political reporter and held various editing roles in newsrooms in Louisiana and Florida before moving to Arizona to join The Republic.
