[Sources: The Arizona Republic, Ken Alltucker] – Medicis Pharmaceutical said Thursday it has secured federal approval to begin marketing its anti-wrinkle drug that will rival Botox.
The Scottsdale-based company will begin selling its new drug, called Dysport, within 30 to 60 days, the time needed to train sales staff and doctors and to establish a price for the cosmetic product.
It has hired and started training about 90 representatives to sell the drug as well as the company’s injectable skin filler Restylane. Medicis, which employs more than 600 people worldwide and 325 at its Scottsdale headquarters, expects to hire more sales representatives as the company grows.
