TRAC provides Tucson start-up $1.5M in venture funding

[Source: Arizona Daily Star] – Tucson-based Salutaris Medical Devices Inc., a start-up firm, announced Monday it received $1.5 million in financing from a venture capital group.
Translational Accelerator LLC, a private Arizona-based venture capital firm that targets bioscience companies in the state, invested in the medical device company because of its commercial potential, according to the announcement.
Also co-investing in SalutarisMD is Tucson Desert Angels, bringing the start-up investment to more than $2 million. Other partners in the startup include the University of Arizona Department of Radiation Oncology, the UA Office of Technology Transfer and Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities Inc.
