Accelr8 Technology Corp, a Denver-based biotech firm, has announced plans to move its headquarters to Tucson.

The company has 10 fulltime jobs at present with plans to fill 65 positions within three years and between 200 and 300 employees long-term.

Accelr8 develops technology to detect pathogenic microorganisms, which can help to prevent patients from getting infections in hospitals.

The company’s president and CEO, Lawrence Mehren, was a former head of global business for Ventana Medical Systems and Roche Tissue Diagnostics, and cited the presence of Ventana and Sanofi as part of the attraction to returning to Tucson.
