Napolitano honored as BIO Governor of the Year

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) has given Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano its 2007 Governor of the Year award, recognizing her support of the biosciences in Arizona and her leadership on behalf of the biosciences during her term as Chair of the National Governor's Association.

Long-Time Director Passes, Noted For 28 Years of Service

Jay S. Ruffner, a prominent Phoenix attorney and long-time member of the Flinn Foundation board of directors, passed away on Sept. 11 in Phoenix. Mr. Ruffner, 66, joined the Flinn Foundation board in 1979 and had served in the role of board secretary since 1982.

“Arizona Bio Boom” tour draws international audience

Indicative of the burgeoning reputation of Arizona's bioscience endeavors, the "Arizona Bio Boom" tour, part of the International Economic Development Council's annual conference, sold out faster than any other featured event at the conference. Participants represented 21 states, Puerto Rico, and Sweden.
