ASU’s biomedical informatics department aims to transform health care

"Biomedical informatics" may not ring a bell to most, though the relatively new and fast-growing field is playing an essential role in advancing personalized medicine and transforming health care. In Arizona, its activity is now centered at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus, where ASU's Department of Biomedical Informatics provides a vital component of the new medical school while carving its own niche in a just-opened, cutting-edge facility.

Tucson’s ImaRx goes public

ImaRx Therapeutics, a Tucson-based drug developer, became the city's fifth firm traded on a major exchange on Thursday with a $15 million initial public offering. Tucson now has two publicly traded bioscience firms: ImaRx and Ventana Medical Systems.
